Russ Barenberg's song "Little
Monk", from his album When at Last (Compass Records) has
been nominated for a Grammy in Best Country Instrumental
Performance! I engineered and mixed this album earlier this
year. Congrats Russ!
Tony Trischka's album Double Banjo Bluegrass Spectacular
has been nominated for a Grammy in Best Bluegrass Album! I
recorded four songs on this recording. Yea Tony!

The Waybacks album is done! Dave Sinko mixed the record and
it has now been mastered. Release date I believe is set for
spring of 2008. Watch for it! It's awesome!

Dale Ann Bradley wins IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year!
Last year I had the honor of recording and mixing Dale Ann
Bradley's album "Catch Tomorrow", released on Compass
Records. Dale Ann was a true and honest artist in the most
amazing way. A singer from the heart, from her soul - every
time she went up to the microphone magic was sure to
happen. I just caught her performance at the Hardly
Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park in San
Francisco, and she wowed the crowd! I'm proud to call her
my friend. Congrats to Dale Ann!

Tonight I go into the studio to set up for 2 weeks of
tracking with the Waybacks for a new album for Compass
Records. Byron House is producing and I'm really looking
forward to working with him and the band. I'll post updates
on this project as they unfold.

The Waifs album I recorded and mixed last year, "Sun, Dirt,
Water" debuted in Australia at #2!
We recorded and mixed this incredible album earlier this
year, and I'm really proud of this recording. The band was
great to work with, everyone had great ideas and a lot of
creativity, and it shows on the album. It covers a lot of
styles and sounds for the band, from the stomp-rock of
"Pony", to the R & B of "I'm Free", to the dark and
moody of "Vermillion". Very cool record.

I'm also just finishing up co-producing and engineering my
third album for Orbo & The Longshots, a great rock and
roll band from Norway. These guys have become some of my
closest friends over the years, and was had a blast
recording this last record! We journeyed to Seattle to
record this one, at a cool studio called "ElectroKitty".
Recorded in about 10 days (10 LONG days) it's their best
album yet. We had a full horn section come in for 3 tunes,
called the "Kings of Swing", and one track has a beautiful
string quartet. Schedule to be released early next
year.
